Mr. Hynes is a board member of the Investor Relations Society in the UK, chairs the US-based Disclosure Advisory Board, and sits on an expert panel at the Committee of European Securities Regulators.Throughout his career he has served as President of the Financial Times for the Asia region, and held various positions with Lloyds International, and the Economist. Mr. Hynes now runs his own consultancy which has helped over 200 listed companies achieve their investor relations objectives in the last 5 years.
Mark Hynes is an expert in investor relations and communications. He has his own consultancy which has helped over 200 listed companies in the last 5 years achieve their investor relations objectives.
He started as an investment banker at Lloyds International, working primarily in Latin America. He joined the Economist in 1974, and worked on company reporting as well as editing the market surveys published by the Economist.
From there he joined the Financial Times, in a managerial and latterly commercial role. He spent 20 years with the FT, helping to develop the international presence of the newspaper, and to extend its reporting on European public companies. Initially based in Brussels, he developed the European presence for the paper. He was then posted to the US, where he built up a financial analysis business to run parallel to the newspaper. He was posted to Singapore as President for the Asia region for the paper, extending the paper’s influence in countries from Japan to Australia. In 1999 he started his own consultancy, specializing in corporate communications and disclosure.
