This lecture provides a comprehensive journey through the evolution of project management practices, from traditional methodologies to modern-day strategies that incorporate cutting-edge technologies and frameworks. We will explore how historical project management practices have shaped modern methodologies, and how emerging trends like digital transformation, AI, and Agile frameworks are redefining the future. It emphasizes the importance of learning from past experiences while adopting innovative tools and strategies to navigate the evolving landscape of project management. Attendees will gain actionable insights for enhancing project outcomes and aligning them with future business goals.
During the training, we will cover five groups of project management processes, from project initiation to project closure. We will also get to know the basic phases of the project life cycle and focus on the main tools and techniques associated with the project management methodology. Additionally, we will familiarize ourselves with the different perspectives on project management from both the implementer’s and the client’s point of view.

The aim of this lecture is to offer participants a understanding of the evolution and future of project management. It will guide attendees through the progression from traditional project management methodologies to modern approaches that embrace digital transformation, AI, and Agile frameworks. By reflecting on past practices and exploring emerging trends, the training seeks to equip participants with actionable strategies to improve project outcomes and align them with future business goals.

Meet the trainer
Marko Golob
Marko Golob is a passionate Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in leading complex projects to successful outcomes in different expert domains. He has worked in engineering, construction, and in IT expert domains. Currently, he is the Head of the IT Project Management Office in the third-largest company in Slovenia, SIJ d.d. (Slovenian steel industry). Working in different expert domains Marko learned different approaches to project management. He is also the elected President at PMI Slovenia chapter and member of the board at Young Leaders Club at AmCham Slovenia.
