Conversation with Reza Mousavi: Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool for creating new jobs with a real re-skilling of workers
In anticipation of the first Summit dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI), which will be held on September 29 and 30 in Skopje, we are talking to Reza Mousavi – director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Sweden, who has more than 20 years of experience in the “tech” industry. and will be one of the speakers during the summit.
AI is really a hot topic now. Tough many businesses have been incorporating AI for some time already, which industries do you think could benefit the most with implementation of AI in their processes?
AI can benefit many industries, but some of the industries that could benefit the most are healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. In healthcare, AI can be used to develop new drugs and treatments, diagnose diseases more accurately, and provide personalized care to patients. For example, AI-powered systems can be used to analyze large datasets of medical records to identify patterns that can help doctors diagnose diseases earlier and more accurately. AI can also be used to develop personalized treatment plans for patients, based on their individual needs and medical history.
In finance, AI is used to detect fraud, make better investment decisions, and automate tasks. For example, Amazon uses AI to develop a new fraud detection system that identifies fraudulent transactions more quickly and accurately than traditional methods.
In manufacturing, AI is used to improve product quality, optimize production processes, and reduce costs. For example, Tesla is using AI to develop new self-driving cars that can navigate the road more safely and efficiently than human drivers.
In addition to these three industries, AI also has a significant impact on many other industries, such as transportation, retail, and customer service. As AI continues to develop, we can expect to see even more innovative and disruptive applications of AI in the future.
Many employees are worried that AI might take their jobs – what kind of re-skilling of the work force is a “must” in these very dynamic times for doing business?
Many people are concerned that AI will take their jobs, but I believe that AI will create more jobs than it displaces. AI will automate tasks that are repetitive and time-consuming, freeing up workers to focus on more creative and strategic work. However, workers will need to re-skill themselves to be able to work effectively with AI. Some of the skills that will be in demand include data science, machine learning, and programming. Today, with the exponential growth of technology, especially the availability of large language models such as Bard and ChatGPT, people don’t need to know programming or data science to be able to equip themselves with AI. They need to learn how to use upcoming and evolving tools to be able to secure their future.
AI will create jobs in the development, maintenance, and deployment of AI systems. AI will also create jobs in new industries that are not yet even imaginable.
Workers face a number of challenges when trying to re-skill themselves for the age of AI. They may not have the time or money to invest in training. Workers may also be hesitant to re-skill themselves if they are unsure about whether there will be a demand for their new skills.
Workers can start re-skilling themselves for the age of AI by learning about AI and its potential impact on their industry. They can also identify the skills that they need to develop in order to thrive in the age of AI. There are many online and in-person resources available to help workers re-skill themselves for the age of AI.
AI is a powerful tool that can be used to create new jobs and improve the lives of people around the world. By re-skilling themselves, workers can ensure that they are well-positioned to benefit from the opportunities that AI will create in the years to come.
What are your expectations from the AI Summit in Skopje?
I expect that the AI Summit in Skopje will be a great opportunity to learn about the latest advances in AI and to network with other people who are interested in AI. I am also looking forward to sharing my own insights on AI and its potential impact on society. I am particularly interested in learning about the ethics of AI, the future of work, and the impact of AI on developing countries.
I believe that AI is one of the most important technologies of our time, and I am excited to see how it will be used to improve our lives in the years to come. In addition to learning about the latest advances in AI, I also hope that the AI Summit in Skopje will help to raise awareness of the potential benefits and risks of AI. It is important to have a public conversation about AI so that we can make sure that it is used for good. I am also looking forward to meeting new people and making new connections at the AI Summit in Skopje. I believe that collaboration is essential for developing and using AI responsibly. I hope that the AI Summit will bring together people from different sectors and backgrounds to work together to create a better future with AI.
I am confident that the AI Summit in Skopje will be a productive and successful event. I look forward to contributing to the summit and to learning from other experts in the field of AI.
Mr. Mousavi’s cooperation with Macedonia doesn’t end at the AI Tech Summit – he is the leading lecturer at the latest training organized by the M6 Educational Center and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence from Sweden – “Fundamentals of AI for managers and executives”. The training will take place in November, and will be online with several times to listen to the lectures. After completing the training, participants will gain knowledge to successfully and effectively implement AI projects, understand the impact and challenges of AI inclusion in business and management of organizations, and will have the opportunity to work on specific examples of AI technology application.
Registration for the training is already open at firstname.lastname@example.org
