Sustainability has become a widely discussed topic within business discourse, with most companies striving to embody the archetype of a sustainable organization. Sustainability, lights within the minds of customers, so-called “green flags”, leading them to form positive beliefs about organizations and their concern for the environment and their employees, forming within the mind of the consumer an image of a caring and green company, devoted to the challenges of the modern world. According to IBM in the past 12 months, 49% of consumers have paid a premium, which in average is 59% higher prices, for goods labeled sustainable and socially responsible.
Taking this fact in consideration, it becomes a must for every company to strive to achieve sustainability in every aspect it operates. The 3Ps of sustainability include people, planet and profit. Each of these elements have their own characteristics where sustainability can be implemented and that determines the success of a sustainability strategy.
Although it might sound simple, it is quite a challenge for companies to be successful in bringing sustainability in their daily practice. The process involves a change of cultural habits, modernization, change of laws, a whole-scale reorganization, reformulation of procedures, etc. Organizations that are sustainable, moreover, are not only concerned about what gets done, but rather more importantly about how things are executed within the workplace.
Training programs that provide deeper insight in sustainability as a concept and dive deep in particularities of each of the segments that needs to be transformed, are more than welcome for all levels of employees. That is why here, at M6 educational centre sustainability is part of everything we do and every program we create.
We truly believe that the only way towards a greener future is making sustainability part of organizations’ DNA and establishing it within the core values of the organization. And even though we have a long road ahead, every step counts, every new policy is a change for the better, every new step taken no matter how big or small, contributes to a great vision and is part of a great mission.
